Steam Fish in Chili Sauce


Ingredients
  • Fish fillet ½ kg
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Ginger chopped 1 piece
  • Spring onion chopped 1
  • Green chilies chopped 2 – 3
  • Worchester sauce 2 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp
  • Brown sugar 1 tsp
  • Vinegar 1 tbsp
  • Crushed red pepper 1 tsp
  • Chili garlic sauce 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder ¼ tsp
  • Oil 3 – 4 tbsp
Method
  • Marinate the fish fillet with salt, 2tbsp lemon juice and 1tbsp corn flour.Place the fish in a steamer and steam for 5-6 minutes.In a separate wok heat 3-4 tbsps of oil and fry 1 piece of ginger until golden brown.Add 1 chopped spring onion,2-3 finely chopped green chilies,1tbsp vinegar , 2tbsp soya sauce, 2tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 2tbps chili garlic sauce, 1tsp brown sugar, 1tsp crushed red pepper and ¼ tsp black pepper powder .Mix well .Lastly add ¼ cup water.Mix the remaining corn flour in water and stir into the sauce. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens.Place the steamed fish onto a platter and pour the sauce on top. Serve with boiled rice.
